Project:

Design a domestic object which has been enhanced with sensors and digital processing power to either a) better serve its current purpose, b) perform an additional function (cross-programming), c) turn into a new experience (e.g: ambient, subversive, surreal). This domestic object can be furniture, accessories, lighting, home appliances, kitchen/bath fixtures, home textiles, etc. You should consider how sound may be incorporated to provide feedback and/or atmospheric character.

A screen based presentation of your project that includes the design concept, technical systems diagram and a convincing simulation of the interactive behavior of your object (can be trick-movies, animations, on-screen interactive demo, etc. - whatever communicates your design concept in a clear and compelling manner).

Week01:

present your concept. What is the goal of your project, whatfs the approach to achieve this goal, what is your gthingh, what does it do, how does it do it, how does a user interact with it, what does it look like (form and material), whatfs the underlying technology? You may want to show a few variations.

Week02:

based on feedback from week 1, develop your design concept and produce the deliverables for the final presentation of assignment 2 on November 8.
